In the Netherlands there are more than 50 sites as starting points marked on a map, for recreational use of the countryside. People park their vehicles in these places and not elsewhere, to preserve these areas. From these points, you can explore nature on foot, mountain bike riding etc. In the small town Reusel, this nomination led to a local sports company to propose a park outdoor sports.
The main attraction is a tower 25 meters high, with sports facilities rope climbing and free climbing. It consists of six cubes, hanging from a core of steel columns. A box of straight ladders rises and crosses the cube several times in different positions.
Two of the six blocks are accessible. The third is a platform for rope climbing and free climbing wall. In the cube above, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape and is a platform for rope climbing. Athletes who run up the wall 13 meter high climbing, can be seen by visitors to the restaurant next door.
can find huge piles of logs in the forest surrounding the place. The surface of the tower consists of the same logs, cut in half, to strip them of bark and size them. In this way, are integrated as a product of their own environment.
Climbing the stairs is a surprising, due to different intersections of these and the cubes, and the various directions taken by the coating. The use of wood makes the work fit into your environment. The forms (orthogonal, unnatural), on the other hand to create an exciting composition.
