thermal envelope of buildings wood. Barrow House

The wood has many advantages for improving of the thermal envelope of a building.
Due to its insulation, and a machining facility, using the multilayer system can design walls with a thickness equivalent to the construction of "traditional" have much lower thermal transmittance than those required by the current Technical Building Code English.

Two examples of composition of walls and the corresponding thermal transmittance value. Equal values \u200b\u200bcould have been obtained using other organic insulators.

Housing of the photographs is the work of architects Grijelmo Lazaro study.
