


The seat of Parliament Scot is a posthumous work of Catalan Enric Miralles supervised and completed by Benedetta Tagliabue, Enric wife, by the study.
In 1998 the study of Miralles, EMBT Associates Architects, in association with local studio RMJM, had won the competition to compete in the final with Rafael Viñoly Architects (New York), Michael Wilford and Partners (London), Richard Meier and Partners / Keppie Design Associated Architects (New York / Glasgow) and Glass Murray Architects / Denton Corker Marshall International (Glasgow / Melbourne).
The popular vote during the exhibition of the finalists had preferred proposals Viñoly and Miralles.
